Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

This past week, my company had their annual Night with the Nats. Despite my obsession with sports, I usually loathe going to sporting events because I am surrounded by everything I loved to much on as a kid, but no longer can enjoy--soft pretzels, hot dogs, nachos, pizza, beer (ok, not as a kid). Thanks to Nationals Park, however, I can be a "normal" fan again!

Nationals Park now has a 100% dedicated Gluten Free stand that has all of your stadium favorites: beer( RedBridge), nachos w/ delicious stadium cheese, and hot dogs on a GF bun--with Chili and cheese if you ask! I haven't tried the nachos, but the hot dog was delicious! The bun isn't the soft, melt-in-your-mouth type of bun you're used to getting at a stadium, it's a little more "gourmet," if you will. It's a little harder than your typical hot dog bun, slightly chewy, but great flavor--my only complaint was that it was bigger than the hot dog! I indulged with some stadium cheese on top of my god and it was delicious--just enough of a bite to give the dog some flavor. Delicious. Overall, I give the hot dog an A-.

If it's soft pretzels you're after, don't fret--The Curly W soft pretzel stand has a gluten free option for you! I can't rave about this option as much as I did about the hot dog, but it was still a great treat. The pretzel is a little tough and chewy, and is about half the size of a regular soft pretzel (but of course more expensive). The taste was great, but the texture threw me off a bit. I give this stadium treat a B--I would get it again, but it's almost not walking all the way up to section 319 to get one.

Lucky me, my all time favorite stadium food is always gluten free--cotton candy.

Check out the Washington Nationals and their delicious gluten free options before the season's over! And don't forget to vote in the poll on the right!
